Default 94 ls/vtec cooling problem

ok two problems...my rad fan isnt working for some reason, the fuses arent blown and everything is plugged in.

another thing, the coolant is "dissapearing" somehow and im not sure why. the temp gauge stays at about the 1/3 mark but if i start hittin vtec then it slowly rises to about 2/3. i had a couple nipples in the coolant lines that were blowing but i replaced them.

ok i disconnected the fan switch sensor and just spliced the wires together. now the cooling fan turns on/off with the car so its all good.

still getting a new thermo tho just to be safe, never know when the last time it was replaced. im still having a weird problem with the "dissapearing" coolant, a helpful dude at an Acura dealership said to check the oil cap for milky substance due to water. it seems i DONT have any water mixing with the oil so its not a bad head gasket.

i think MAYBE i just didnt put enough coolant in the rad after i replaced the hoses. i filled up the rad and the resevior then drove it for about 10 minutes, came back and the resevior was empty. i just topped off everything again and imma drive it and get back here.

The coolant doesnt have to mix with the oil for a bad headgasket, it could be seeping straight into the combustion chamber.

Does the car smoke at all?

nope, there isnt any visual evidence that the car is sucking up all the water...well except for the LACK of water in the rad after i drive it for a little bit..

i replaced the thermo and got my rad fan to work then took it on like a 20 mile freeway test drive. the temp gauge stayed at about the 1/4 mark which is good and there wasnt any leaking or steaming when i got home to take a peek under the hood.

im satisfied that the car is dealt with, now i just need to figure out why it smells like exhaust in when i drive...
