Overheating Problems
After swapping motors in my car I started having problems with over heating so I changed my thermostat & fan switch. That didn't seem to help so I flushed it out and took the thermostat out temporarily. Now the car is running cool but I've noticed that where the fluid out of the rad. touches my paint or anything else in the engine bay it leaves a white residue?? Now I've checked my oil and it doesn't seem to be mixing with the oil so what the hell could it be??
Thanks
Will
BTW It's a 94 Hatch with a B16a swap

Re: Overheating Problems
Is the fan working properly? It might be that the fan isn't turning on when its supposed to and when you took out the thermostat it turned on automatically. Check that.
Are you replacing coolant? Any leak anywhere?

Re: Overheating Problems
The fan seems to be working properly and i did find a small coolant leak but I highly doubt it was the problem.

Re: Overheating Problems
you'd be surprised, it's not so much the fact of coolant leaking in volume as much as it is the system losing pressure. When your cooling system bleeds off pressure it will cause overheating.
