Default Need help IAC valve

In need of some help, my idle just started to go up and down. The car sat infront of my garage for about a week without being warmed up. Just today, I started the car and once the car warmed up, the idle started to go up and down. It will go up to 2000 and back down. My friend told me to clean my IAC valve, where is that damn thing located on a 1996 Civic DX? How do I even remove the intake box?

Can please someone link me or explain where to go from here.

Thanks.

It should be located on the back of your intake manifold next to the tb. Its got a black solenoid on it and held in with 2 12mm bolts and 2 coolant hoses. I have the same problem my friend told me it was an IACV problem. so imma clean it out see if that works! i have a 99 civic Ex... idle problem!

I used Honda Carb cleaner that I bought for $4. Solved my idle issue.

Cleaning it did not help the problem at all. (I used carb cleaner to clean the screen)!
My idle jumps from 1000-1600rpms with in a second, once car is warmed up... I may just need a new IACV. I checked every vacuum line and they are all hooked up A+... FML this idle problem is going to cost me.

use carb. cleaner and a pipe cleaner to get deep into the iacv on the side w/o the screen and on the holes on the IM. If not prob. need a new iacv.

Yeah i was hoping not to buy another iacv because what if thats not the problem? The only iacv i can find is worth $160, do you know of any shops with lower prices for an iacv???

O and i got that screen lookin bran new and all around it, the 8 seal is in good shape!

idle bounces from 1000 to 1600rpms in a second when engine is warm.....

its IACV. Just take it out and clean it with carb cleaner. there is a tut somewhere on the forum that shows you how to take it apart and clean it/fix it.
