So, after a few hours of trying to figure out more, and not having a knowledgeable professional to ask, I have given up hope, and have now turned to posting a new topic.
I want to upgrade my tedious stock-shifter, to a B&M Short throw. However, I just discovered that B&M have two basic short throw products. A basic version, and a "race" version, featured here http://www.bmracing.com/PRODUCTS/Acura.
The "Race" version consists of an aluminum housing, with spherical bearing, while the basic version does not contain this. What exactly am I missing out on, if I don't get the the "race" version? Am I going to break things without the fancy equipment? As a noob, I don't quite know the importance of a aluminum housing and spherical bearing. Additionally, price is a factor here. And I have a 94 GSR for reference.
Thanks for helping in advance

your stock one is fine. I am not a fan of aluminum shifters, the specific weight of aluminum much lighter than steel -> more vibration.
