High idle on startup even when engine warm?
I spent quite a while trying to get my idle stabilized and have been living with the last little issue for the last few months mainly because I got tired of chasing gremlins, but now it's starting to bother me again.
What's happening is that whenever I first start the engine (even when the engine is totally warmed up after a short stop), it will idle around 1500 rpm for about 30 sec to 2 min, then drop down to the normal idle speed. Other than that, everything works as it should.
The car is a stock '88 CRX DX w/ DPFI D15 (originally auto, I converted to manual a while back). I've replaced the ICV, replaced the TPS (and recalibrated it). Right now I'm thinking that a bad water or air temp sensor may be the problem, but not 100% sure.
Anybody ever hear of this problem, or have a fix for it? This is about the last remaining glitch that the car has, so I'd love to fix it and have a car that I can say is 100% mechanically perfect (until something else goes wrong)
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

ya might be air. now sure on dual points but on multi points theres a fast idle valve right under the throttle body and if you take it apart theres a big thing on the inside that usually works its way loose over time if you tighten that it will drop the start up idle alot.
I bled the coolant system a while back when I was fighting more severe idle problems. Didn't get any air out of the system and I doubt that any has got in since then. I adjusted the idle speed per spec, and it idles fine except for this one problem at startup.
The big nut that works loose on MPFI cars is not present on the DPFI, so that's not likely to be the problem.
By the sound of the responses so far, a bad temperature sender is not a common problem (else somebody would have backed me up on the idea). I can't think of anything else that would cause the problem though.... Any ideas other than "the usual suspects"? I've covered all those bases already.
