with or without a cat? DCRB has my old hatch and without a cat (I had a EF9 SiR OEM cat back on it) it sounds good, not loud, but not super quiet. Worth the money if you find one.

Running with cat. I bought the SiR axle back muffler only, 100 bucks.
It is not a direct bolt-on so I have to cut and weld for it to fit properly. Anyone know of a good muffler shop in Los Angeles?

Son, it IS a direct bolt on. All you gotta do is work with it and man it in there. I had the axle back on my STD b piping, fit just fine.

100 bucks for JUST the axle back? thats a rip off! i got the whole cat back for 80$ delivered to my door

The axle back came of from a rhd sir in japan. removing the stock si axle back shows the opening to be a little bigger than the sir one, it won't easily bolt on directly to the pipe.
that's why I gotta cut.

Thats because you have to weld it in. the cat back bolts up to the cat.

I am running the d16 piping. any difference from the std b piping? maybe that's where my problems are coming from. I am using all std d16 piping to bolt on the sir axle back.

if anything... I would have thought that the SiR was a tad larger. Weird.

Mine bolted to stock B-pipe with NO problems.

Sounds like stock exhaust, because it IS stock exhaust.

sure your's is from honda? mine is. it is much louder than a stock exhaust. granted it's 2.25" piping (i think) but it's better than the stock exhaust that came on our 1.5l's. i recently swapped out my b pipe (which had crush bent angles) with my obx-r b pipe and it's like 2.5" piping that's mandrel bent all the way back until the axle flange, where it shrinks down and bolts right up to my muffler. looks stock.
