What's recommended to get rid of all the slop in my shifter? No problems shifting, but when the car is in gear, for example, 5th gear.. you can move the shifter side to side quite a bit.. I like a firm, feeling to my shifter.. So if someone can direct me to what I need to fix it all! Thanks!

Shifter bushings, you can buy new ones from honda, or you could go and buy some energy suspension shifter bushings. Either ones are good, and very easy to replace.

^^ #14 & 16 Are what make up the shifter bushing kit if bought after market. The majority of what you feel as being slop, comes from #14
i am curious about this as well. my 2000 si has a b&m short shifter, and has a good amount of side to side slop, but feels fine forward and backward. the car came with the short shifter when i bought it so i bet the previous owner screwed up and forgot the bushings. i'm thinking it's #23,5,4 that are missing/worn out.
nah all you guys are lunchin.. thats just how the em1 shifter is made to be.. it has alot of play in the shifter.. it might suck but its no big deealio silly ho

Yeah, I have a serious time believing the car had this much slop from the factory. Haven't replaced the bushings yet, probably this thurs/fri and will report back.
okay dont believe me, i have an em1 and im not 12 bro. people that have em1's will tell you .. but go ahead and let me know if it actually works and was it worth themoney?
Not that there the same car but I had a gsr with the same issue. Side to side was horrible but front to back was pretty solid. I put in new Energy Suspension bushings (#16 and #30) and it didn't fix the side to side. It tightened up the front to back a little more wich felt great but not side to side play. If I did it over I'd try the #23 #5 and #4. I looked cloder into it after putting in the ES bushings and it definitely looked more like 23-5-4. I currently have an 00 em1 and it has side to side slop. I too higly doubt that it was that way from the factory. Keep in mind a heavy *** shift **** can make this feel alot worse too. Circuit Hero and Skunk2 ***** are what I mean by heavy.
BTW I'm sure you aren't actually 12 just don't expect anyone on a "technical" forum to take you seriously when you talk like that...
