Default Auto to Manual Pedal Assembly Problems......Please Help

I have a 99 civic lx sedan that i am in the process of swaping a b16a2 into and also converting to a 5spd. What is the best way to pull out the auto pedals to put in the manual pedals...i am trying to change out the whole assembly instead of just teh actual pedals and I don't know if I have to drop the steering column or pull out the brake booster. I really don't want to drop the steering column if I don't have to....thanks for any help, i need it. And does anyone know if there is a good write up on this?

And you do have to un plug the little blue box that is underneath the dash? What does that do or control?

take out the blue box and throw it away. (its the device that lets the key come out of the ignition when its in park. you wont need it)

and you need to drop the steering column. its only 2 bolts. not hard at all lol.

yep just drop the column and throw away the blue thing and you're good to go. Hardest part of the whole 5 speed swap is the pedal assembly, its just such a pain.

And here's a link to a write up:

Thanks for the help, i was wondering why i needed the blue box....can i just un hook the connection or do I have to take it out? And the pedals out of the whole swap have been the biggest pain...it stinks...lol. But thanks for all the help. I will use that link to do the wiring for the clutch safety switch and reverse lights.
