the home depot way to re-floor your trunk!
Ok with lots of trips to the beach and 7 years of wear and tear my trunk floor and carpet needed replacing. So heres what i did.
1.Using a sharpie marker i traced around the trunk and cut the carpet to exact fit with scissors. i then tacked the cut carpet to a 5' x 4' piece of 3/8" particle board (9.99$ home depot). Then i traced around the carpet with the sharpie. Using a jigsaw or bandsaw with the apropriate blade cut along the dotted line (note: kiddies ask your daddy for help and always wear goggles). Viola! a piece of wood to use for the trunk floor. But wait the wood wont fit in! simply cut it into 3 pieces where the rear wheel wells are so there is enough wood to cover the spare tire, the space below it etc. and put it together in the trunk like a real easy puzzle!
2. For the carpet i bought some industrial grade carpet at home depot. Its 6' wide and its 4$ per linear yard so i only need 2 yards (gee...umm... carry the one) thats only 8$! This a real no brainer. Take the carpet you cut before and trace around it onto the new peice, cut with scissors and you are done.
Before this project i went to the Honda dealer and they wanted 280 from factory for this. My way cost a 20$Hope this helps.
