Default running hard for long - BOOST

I read somewhere, when running hard for long can increase the knock threashold.
Like 6-7 Consecutive pulls or road racing ect.

Is this true? If so, why?

Please elaborate...

You are saying a motor is less **** to knock by running it at maximum output ???

What i mean is,

If you boost for a long period of time, you are more likely to knock.

Is this true? and if so, why is that?

Yeah its puttin more stress on your motor the longer your boosting on it. Your motor gets hot if your running it hard for long sprints of time (like running it through 5th gear) and not giving it time to cool down, the parts get weak and wear down and or break.

Heat soak will occur, intake air temps along with coolant temps will rise causing you to run less ignition timing to compensate for these conditions... A properly tuned car won't knock under harsh abuse...

But isn't less timing a good thing under those conditions?

Irrelevant question. Vehicle should be tuned for E85, and it may or may not require more timing. Depends on many things.

Along with the OP, if your temps are climbing to the point where you are beginning to experience a knock condition then you have a set up problem and subsequently needs to be addressed.

this is what iat correction is for. well...it plays a small part.

and about e85. not so much requires more timing; but you can run more timing = more power.

to the op. you just need an efficient setup to do that without knocking; otherwise you might start seeing knock. most kids that throw a simple kit on there honda might not last as long compared to a well sought out setup. you can only push a motor so far to a point where other variables will get the best of it.
