Go to the dealer, all SRS/safety related items should be covered.

I bought my car crashed, all the airbags have been deployed..

If I got to the dealer to fix this srs problem, I'm scared they will first slap me fallowed by a recommendation for installing airbags again

If the airbags deployed then you have to replace the belt & tensioner as well, along with the crash sensors. Trust me I know, I work for a dealer doing wholesale with body shops all day long. The body shop should have replaced at the very minimum the airbag, belt & tensioner and if the SRS light was still on then the crash sensors as well. Go back to the body shop you had it done at, it's their problem not yours. Raise hell if need be.

Misread: I saw you said you BOUGHT it crashed!? WOW. Um? I guess try to cop your insurance into replacing the belts & tensioners. If not you'll have to fork over the money. Once those things lock from a crash there is no turning back.

If the airbags deployed and the sensor went off then yes your seatbelts are forever jammed. List price on new belt & retractor assemblies for a 2004 RSX are $343.68 EACH!!! It's also a "controlled" part which means the dealer would have to order them according to your specific VIN.

"Is it time for some recaros with some takatas ?? :/ " - I would prob go this route! Just hope if you ever sell it, it's to a race inspired Honda fan.

You are very smart, I would never think of that.. I will be keeping this car till it dies. So in this case recaros wont be a bad idea..

sorry for stealing your topic but im going to get used driver side seatbelts( male female end only) from an 03 rsx type s and i have an 04 base model would it work to turn off my srs light...i got an airbag tech to look at it and he said that was the problem along with the srs module. the serial # has to be the exact to work correct? the 03 rsx type s is a race car so not a crashed buy. anyway thanx for your time. mugen88crx

The belts, opds unit and SRS unit are the same for an 03 RSX-S and a 04 RSX Base. Same part numbers. As long as the parts your putting in arn't fualty (from a wrecked car) they should all work together, just have a dealer clear the code.

I would not recommend using 4 or 5pt harnesses in a daily driven car. Without a full roll cage and proper mounting points, a 4pt or 5pt harness will not allow you to move during a crash which can break your neck/back.
