I have a 98 hx with a slipping transmission and also just got a 96 dx that I'm going to use for parts but when I looked at the hx the starter is near the front of the engine and the dx starter is under the distributor (where I'm used to seeing them).

Are the d series all the same bolt pattern engine to trans?

 

is the HX a regular automatic or is it the CVT tranny?

 

Cvt. searched more on it apparently I'm screwed.

 

Yep, its easier to convert to a 5 speed than it is to try to put a different automatic in there.

so yes your bascicly screwed. inless you want to convert to 5spd
