I was getting new bearings for my 5speed tranny in my 1994 Civic with a D16Y8 come to find out I have the Dx tranny the guy told me So Im asuming the guy that had the car before just took out the 1.5l non Vtec and Dropped in the D16y8 leaving the original 1.5 tranny. They guy down at Discovery Honda told me he has a tranny that came out of his 1995 Del Sol 1.6L Vtec (he said at low speeds it comes out of second gear you wouldnt even notice it and it dosnt make a sound just comes out of gear He thinks its a syncro or shift fork but high speeds it works fine but if your driving around a parking lot in second at low speeds youll go to press on the gas and relize its in neutral) Would that tranny bolt right up to my motor without having to change anything. He said he would sell it to me for 150 and Dosnt that tranny have a LSD? Thanks again.

dont buy a busted tranny
dont be a ding dong
no they didnt have lsds
thats alot for a Dseries tranny
look around on craigslist theres alot for like $50

 

Thank you Maybe I will just stick with putting mine back together since I already bought the parts lol. I just thought if it was a better tranny and it had LSD I would do it.

 

put a good clutch in while your at it and flywheel.

 

Im trying to find a good deal on a stage 2 clutch there like 150 on ebay lol but I dont know if there worth a damn. I have a clutch in the trunk thats new and the guy said its JDM but I think its to heavy to be JDM

 

throw it in the dumpster and get an F1 stg2 clutch. my friend had one of those in his d16 and dang it was nice.

buy it. its agood deal for the$ thats what my friend had. sold the motor to a kid i know that is still using it

 

I dont have the cash for the fly wheel they have a 8pound fly wheel on there for 100bucks.
