D16y8 tranny to y5???

I have a D16Y8 tranny and i am looking to replace mine because 3rd and 4th is out. I will be purchasing a new tranny soon, it is a Y5. will this tranny fit ok. i heard all D series tranny are the same and would fit any D series engine. My concern is, while i swap out trannys, i will be installing a new stage 1 clutch with the Y5 tranny, will there be any conflicts with the Y5 tranny and clutch? thanks

Almost all d-series trannies are interchangeable. You won't have any problems with the swap. You'll just have longer gearing than before.
