Long Story short, I bought a 4dr. that some guy had completely trashed. Exterior,Interior and Motor-wise. I'm In The Process of Trying To Revive This Car To At least Be acceptable To Drive Without Draining my Pockets every week ... :/

When I Drive Around, Randomly The Car Will Bog Down Hard, Sometimes Backfiring, Then All Of a Sudden It's Like An Angel Touches The Car And The Car Gains Smooth, Massive Power Back.

My Gas Consumption is crazy, BTW. I can Run Out a Full Tank in 3 Days.

Any Idea's ?

 

sounds like someone has tryed tuning it by dumping a lot of fuel into it and advancing timing. CHeck the ecu and see if its chipped

 

Ok, Just Checked That Out , ECU is all Stock my Friend.

 

ok then it sounds like the stock injectors are starting to go bad and leak. try replacing them and see what happens.

 

it could also be dizzy related how long has it been since the button and cap have been replaced

 

Havent Cleaned the Injectors Yet ... I'll Update You On That.

Also, The Cap I Have No Idea, As Far As I'm Concerned with the Dumb guy I bought this car off of, The cap has never been replaced ...

 

try changin the cap and the rotor button. that would be where i would start. they are cheap, as far as cleaning the injectors its not that they are dirty but they are sticking open, if thats the case.

 

OMG, Worst day ever for this car now.

Changed the plugs yesterday + Gapped properly. Full Tank of Gas (Why do the worst Things happen to a car AFTER you drop money in the gastank ? haha)

Yesterday checked the coolent and filled accordingly.

TODAY - Extreme loss of power + sometimes not even wanting to crank + Massive overheating.

Checked the headgasket - All is well.

I'm sooo lost right now. It's like everything I troubleshoot Isn't the case ...

 

get a new cat. converter. but first clean your injectors and replace the fuel filter

 

yea i wasnt thinking about fuel. prime the car by turning on the ignition and then turn it off. GO to the fuel filter and losen the 6mm bolt on top. It has a 10 mm head on it. check and make sure fuel shoots out. if not then there are three or more things that could be wrong.
1: the fuel pump is shot.
2: the filter is clogged.
3: the injectors are leaking.
4: the main relay is going out.
