VTEC Engagement Point On The 2002 Civic Ex?

My brother just bought a 2002 ex and, althuogh its still in its break-in stage, I was wondering when vtec engages in it.

you mean when your 4 other valves finally open up? around 5100 i think.

are those cars even quick? How would it fair against a stock EK (straight line)?

its ok.
not that fast.
very not good to work on.

I have an EX. Its alright, nothign fast though. Theres no way I would spend money to even try to make that motor fast though. No potential unless you swap in a K series.
