Default error code 6 ect

So, I replaced my wiring harness and now i keep getting error code 6 which is engine coolant temp does anyone have any ideas? Thats the only code I have and it didnt have that code before i took out the harness and I took it out because I was having trouble with the wiring for the secondary o2 sensor.

How is the coolant temp sensor plug? is it cracked, or are wires frayed, it might just be loose connection, or the sensor itself is bad.

the single wire plug on the head isn't coolant temp for the ecu its coolant temp for the gauge. The one for the ecu is the 2wire plug next to it.

Also, FYI... the one on the thermostat isn't really a sensor its a fan switch. Good luck figuring it out

so after checking some stuff, i replaced my ect with a new one and the code went away so i took the car for a test drive. once i got down the street the check engine light started to flash code 6 again so i pulled over and rest the ecu. the code went away then the car sat again untill this morning and the same thing happened. i reset it and it went away. so would this mean that there is something wrong with the sensor the harness is uncut.

What year?

It could be the two ECT wires, the ECU connector with the ECT wire, or the ECU.

If the IAT is not plugged in, then why aren't you throwing an IAT code rather than an ECT code?

Assuming the connectors are not swapped, the problems are separate. Why not get a new IAT sensor so that the engine runs optimally?
