Default code #6 water temp. sensor

my car is throwiung this code, and the car is not running right at atll.

could this be the problem with it running?

need help soon, this is my daily.. thanks

my car wasnt starting when it got hot, thats what code it was showing. The coolant tempature sensor is what they called it. it wasnt running bad though...

code 6 is for the water temp sensor, its a 2-wire sensor under the distributor. make sure its plugged in. then check to make sure the wiring is in good order (no broken or frayed wires). im sorry i dont know the specs to test the sensor but you can measure the output of the two pins using a multimeter. replace the sensor if needed.

and yes, this will make the car run poorly/not start
