I need help with tapping into my door pin wire in my 89 civic hatch. I know the color is green/red, but when I tapped into the green/red wire under the dash it didn't give a signal when the door was open. It did give a signal at the actual door pin with the same color wire connected to it. What is going on?
the wire you looking for in in the drivers kick low down it lookls really thick but is mostly insolation it is light green with a red stripe the witre your tapping into HAS to be dark green with a red stripe the wrong wire

You are tapping into the wrong harness point... It should be connected to the passenger side door input...

What twogengsr said is correct. Its a thicker light green wire with red stripe. This can be found under the carpet near the drivers lower kick panel. It should show 12 volts at rest, and should test "ground" when either door is opened.
Make sure the door contact switches are working properly first.
