Door trigger 96 hatch
I have a 96 hatch dx and i was locating wires for a viper350 alarm install. I just cannot find the correct lt green/red wire for the door trigger. I've located the thicker gauge wire in the drivers kick panel, and when hooked up only triggers the passangers door, wtf? I have verified both door pin operation. The drivers door is a solid green wire in the same gray connector at the drivers kick panel. I cannot get both doors to trigger off of one wire. Any ideas?
Taken from Cause of Alarm: http://causeforalarm.thecarthing.com...vic/index.html
The door trigger wire is in the wire bundle that's tucked up in the rear interior crossmember. It's a thick light green/red. The fuel pump wire is also found in this bundle. It's yellow/green.
Close all the doors, set your meter to continuity, connect one probe to chassis ground and the other to the suspected wire. There should be no continuity (meter shows 1). Open a door and the meter should drop to 0. Test each door individually.

Thanku for that info, that is a great site with tons of info. I think he was using that location because he was mounting the alarm control module behind the rear quarter trim panel. I have located the lt green/red wire but it is not triggering the drivers door, i have also noticed the the lt green/red wire rund to the dome light. Im thinking my current location that im tapped into is before all the lt green/red wores are spliced together. I would like to know where that particular location is
Here's from DirectWire:
Door Trigger: Lt. Green/Red, -, Factory Alarm Plug
NOTE:
Also found in the green factory alarm plug located behind the radio.
Can also be found in a light green plug above the fuse box or bottom of driver kick, harness to rear.

x2 easiest place to find it.
Ok so i found it. I spliced into it at the back of the under hood fuse box connector b. I completed the install, but the vehicle still starts when the alarm is triggered
, looking at the relay i think it is wired wrong. I cut the blk/wht wire and wired in the thick gauge green and thick gauge blk wires from the relay, but it still starts with the alarm going off, wtf, and suggestions are appreciated

Did you wire the starter cut relay in the right direction?
The black lead goes to the starter side of cut black/white lead and the green lead goes to the ign. switch side of cut black/white lead. 94

make sure that your yellow wire from the relay is connected to ignition, and not accessory. it should be a 12V source that comes on with the key and does not drop to >9V during crank. direction of black or green shouldn't make a difference as it's just an interrupt.
ah, true on the if the green is also used for the relay coils! however, IIRC from experience and every install guide I can find for the 350HV states that the yellow ignition connection is the one set up on the prewired starter kill relay. Sorry if it came off with the wrong tone, I was just trying to prevent him from possibly undoing his starter wire soldering and redoing it only to have the same result, didn't mean to step on anyone's toes.
No toes being stepped on, I didn't feel any anyway, good info is always good.
I was looking at wiring for H1/1 Orange, top of page 3 where it explains how to install diode if orange is also used for other things, it only shows the green, black and orange to the "pre-wired" starter cut relay and it shows black to starter and green to ign.
But your correct, with the yellow lead going to true ign., [maybe OP should check his yellow to make sure it is to a "true" ign.] it should make no diff. which way the black and green go, DEI has them black to starter and green to ign., could be because it is also an anti-grind relay, however, because starter cut relay is not working it is the only suggestion I can come up with, something is not working correctly 94
