2000 - weird pulse from Clutch
Hey,
Question about my clutch... When i lightly press on the clutch (5cm?)... I can feel this pulsing in the clutch.. and sometimes theres some squealing noises that i can hear....
when i clutch in completely, the squealing stops and i can't feel the pulsing...
anyone know whats wrong??
I bought the car used 8 months ago... first manual car... didn't realize this wasn't normal until mechanic and friends mentioned it... mechanic said hes not sure whats wrong, hes only felt that before on a NSX with a aftermarket clutch...
Thanks in advance.

Well, chances are it's the throwout (release) bearing that's making the squeeling noise. I've found that some bearings (i.e. Centerforce, Clutchmasters) are poorly made. Mine is a centerforce, and it's a POS. Within 2 weeks from (professional) installation, it started making this squeeky-cricket-type noise that only ceases when I rest my foot on the clutch (without engaging it completely (possibly 5 cm)).
The pulsing is also questionable, it might have something to do with incorrect clutch alignment. But that I can't say for sure. How strong is the pulsing on a scale of 1 to 10?
If you end up getting into the clutch, you might wanna consider just buying and new one (and even a lightened flywheel) because of all the time involved in removing parts. You can optimize the job by putting in performance parts, and then you won't have to worry about the problem.
