Fuel filter change??

yeah thats what i was kinda thinking, because i changed it about a year ago right after i did my swap, but i just wanted to hear some expert opinions
My 05 Legacy GT with 108.000 miles has the original fuel filter.
Most people never change them. My 86 Ford F150 has it's original as well as the 97 Suburban.

i never actually compared the numbers, but when i did change it i noticed an immediate improvement on mpg and the motor seemed a bit smoother

i am only the second owner of the car, i don't know if the original ever changed it but whe i did last summer i was suprised at what i found. When you have the filter out of the car shake it around and see what comes out, mine looked kinda like chocolate milk!!!!
