Is there a way to tell if you need a new fuel filter? I have had my car for about a year , I know I've never changed it and im not to sure about the previous owners. So...yeah, how can i tell?

I typically change mine every 30k miles.... it never hurts to replace it though.

do you have an estimate on how much they cost? is there any real benefit to a "high performance" fuel filter

i think around $10 to $15. a performance filter isn't really needed but maybe for a boosted motor. oem fuel filter is fine.
