Default d 16 block swap.

ok so i blew my old motor at the crank so i picked up a shortblock that has roughly 160k on it.

the reason why i bough the block was that my budget is SUPER tight and thats all i can afford.

ok so, the real question is how NECESSARY do i have to take it to the machine shop to get the crank and bearings replaced. for this new block..
nothing is wrong with the block itself.. just the dried up oil build up on top of the pistons.

so is it better to replace the internals that was damaged from my original motor with this replacement one...or..?? you tell me.

i drive the car alot. i take occasion trips to the beach, freeways and stuff and i gun it every now and then but its mostly from school work and home.

so please PLEASEE give me suggestions im not so good with motors.

thanks

well do to the miles i would re-bearing and ring the block and replace the seals and then it should be good to go in the car. dont forget to have them hone the block.

estimation. just liek out of ur head.. how much would u think all that would cost. the replacement block was honed i saw the hone rings and it was preety legit. so tell me what i should do if i want to use my original block with the parts from the new block.?

what exactly happen to the old one? spun bearing?
i cant estmate the cost for the hone because all shops are different, and i get my stuff done for free...
but il look up some rings and bearings. shouldnt be to much.

yea well i have a realy bad rod knock and then something broke and theres oil everywhere in my engine bay.. first thought was the head gasket..but never really knew. but my mechanic said spun rod bearing and maybe the crank is f***ed. cuz of how loud the knock is.

bearings- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACL-R...Q5fAccessories
