Default Has anyone with GPS get there car stolen?

Has anyone with a GPS tracking device ever have your car stolen. The reason I ask is because a freind of mines Integra was stolen and it had many layers of protection. We spent many hours hiding and protecting the wiring and the brain. It was no noob install. Well long story short the car was taking one night. He goes to check the location and the last known place is where it was last parked at. After that the unit never could be located. I couldnt begin to image how they could bypass the GPS. Well just to inform the Honda community there are devices out there that can jam/interrupt the signal. I wont indulge anymore info on them. Im just letting people know that even if you have a GPS tracking device in your car it can be still taking. Im curious to know how many people have had this same sitution happen to them.

everyone already knows this, and they are rare. and tend to be expensive....
my guess is number 1 they knew what they where doing and had enough time to get around the alarm.
that or the gps unit was faulty.

GPS devices don't do **** if they lose power or if the signal is lost (think driving through a tunnel with a tomtom)

Yes, I figured out how they got around the alarm. I guess the GPS unit could have failed at that partical time. But the unit work everytime it was tracked. Even in rural areas. I found jamming units for less than $100.

It had it own backup battery that has a 5 day life. It was also hardwired off the clock to recharge it.

What gps unit. If you can think of a way that they got around it then its the install fault. You need to take every way possiable away from a theif. Do not leave them nonething.

In the case of your friends integra it seems it was somebody who knew what he had did that to him because you stated it had many layers of protection.
