Default another mini me question. CEL code 14

ok i just did the mini me swap. and im getting a code 14.

i used the z6 head i bought, and kept the z6 intake on it. and i put the throttle body, and the IACV off the d15 on it. all new gaskets for everything. and im using a p28 ecu.

im now getting a code 14. so i replaced the IACV with the one off of the z6 manifold originally and its still the same code... wtf?

i didn't have any cel's before the mini me swap. anyone have any ideas?

Is the car running properly? Is the idle surging? its possible that your IACV is bad or that the wire is bad. I;m not exactly sure if the D15 and the D16 wiring for the IACV on OBD-1 is the same.

the idle surges when its cold, when its warm its fine. but it stalls to 300 rpms, and then dies. and it wont restart unless i hold the throttle part way open like my diesel truck in winter time.

try taking off the iacv and cleaning the screen out. also while its out just 12v across it and make sure the valve is moving open and closed smothly. if not replace it with a good one

thats a IACV/FITV issue. Since its when its cold ist def got something to do with the FITV since that regulates it until the motor hits operating temp and then it runs on the IACV.

But I plugged my p06 ecu in and its working fine. Is the iatv wire on the p28 in a different spot?

I may not be right and RONJ can look into his knowledge filled head as well but im pretty sure the wiring is different, that would explain the running fine on the po6

Code 14 is likely a problem with one of the two IACV wires.

1) With the key in ON(II), do you measure battery voltage on the Yel/Blk wire of the disconnected IACV connector?

2) From the disconnected IACV connector, can you find a short (unexpected continuity) or open (no continuity) on the Grn/Wht wire that runs between the IACV and ECU?

well the iacv works with the p06 ecu. maybe theres something wrong with the p28?

Good point. As you mentioned earlier, check whether the ECUs are pinned differently for the IACV wires.

In this case, swapping in a known good ECU makes a lot of sense. I guess you didn't know someone who would let you borrow one for the test.

THe wiring on a P08 is the same as a P28 they are both OBD1 and the OBD-1 Harness is the same regardless.
