What i need before turbo?
I currently have a Integra GSR 2001, it has 69k miles on it and i want to put on a turbo. I've talked to a few guys about ebay turbos in real life, and they were successful. Most all of it is stock right now, it has a good exhaust system put on it when i bought it. What kind of things do i need before i get somebody to put the turbo on. I am getting a stage 2 clutch for it and i want it to at least have 215+ HP with the turbo if possible. List some parts that i need, im doing this over the summer, so i want decent priced parts, or even brands i can look at. Im going to take my time and make it right! thanks.
you dont NEED any parts to make 215 but if you build it like new cams, valves, valev springs, oil pump, cai, pistons, rods, etc. but you dont have to build it if your only lookin for 215
What you need is to do a lot more research, knowledge=power.
With that low of a goal you should just purchase a greddy kit, especially with your limited amount of knowledge of boost. With greddy emanage (garbage when you end up wanting more power
) that is included you will very easily hit your target goal.
Either do something like that or take a long time researching and looking through the forced induction thread/faq. GL

Stay away from ebay parts!!!!! Seriously do some research man. It'll save you money in the long run and you'll get WAY more the 215. Good luck.
ebay parts arent great, but they work and function. if your only looking for 215 on a gsr you only need about 4psi on a small turbo. other oem turbo setups may be down your alley. like a 16g off a dsm would be great and they are a proven turbo. plus i dont believe anyone said that your going to need a conversion to obd1 so you can tune your setup
This is what i have on my list atm. Skunk2 intake manifold, skunk2 throttle body not sure on the (mm), skunk2 fuel rail, skunk2 intake manifold, K&N cold air intake, Exedy stage 2 clutch kit, and prob suspension later on, wheels, etc. I think im going to stick with that for now.

i would save your money and get a legit kit. you get what you pay for....
honestly you dont need alot to make decent power.
a friend of mine is making 280 whp on a stock gsr with 750cc injectors w/ a turbonetic turbo kit boosting at 8psi i believe.
also fuel rail, cold air, arent really needed. almost everyone i know as stock fuel rails, and cold air isnt really a reality for a turbo set up.
basicly, get a good turbo kit, injectors, fuel pump. and you should make at least 250whp of its installed and tuned right.

Fuel Rail is needed for your power goals and there is NO point is buying a cold air since it wont be used once your boosted. Honestly take the time to build it right the first time, boost is addictive and you are not going to be happy with 215 hp (for long)
i been wanting to go turbo also started to do my research lots of help coming from the guys here on honda-tech.....they recommending the site www.xs-power.com for a turbo kit check it out.

i know many people making well over 250 whp with a stock fuel rail, and only boosting 7psi
although an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is always good, its not something needed. its only if you want to go bigger, but in most cases, its good to build up your head as well as your block.
i highly reccommend injectors and fuel pump, since most kits arent going to include it.
edit:
if you decide to buy a used turbo kit i would suggest buying new oil lines. any problems with oil will result in many problems in the future.
ive been wondering this as well (what else is needed).
would this kit get me to 320? what else would i need to get to a reliable 320? (yes noob)
pm me

OP please go to the forced induction section. Most of the people in this thread, along with the person above me have very little knowledge about FI.
A GT35r will without a doubt get you to 200 whp.
Duh. Without a doubt more than that, not "more if your lucky" IntegratypeRs. Honda-tech members and their incompetent answers..awesome.

i am running a SC61 and put down 378 a stock GSR with a skunk2 manifold and 780cc injectors on pump gas so i think he will get good number to reach that goal of "215hp" but i would not waste the money for that weak of goal... Just my opinion though
The things you will need is a walbro fuel pump 750 rc injectors arp headstuds cosmic head gasket hondata and the full turbo setup o by the way no ebay parts you will replace all of them in a couple of months belive me i did
