Default vacuum line to wastegate came off, overboosted :(

my car has only been boosted for a few weeks now with all new parts and a complete engine rebuild, al i have really been doin with it since i got it runnin was just driving around makin sure all the kinks get worked out and did a few pulls every now and then..

well on friday i was doin some more checks to make sure everthing was workin well and apparently the vacuum line to the wastegate fell off without my knowing and im pretty sure my car overboosted, and know she is running like **** making a light poppin sound and there is smoke comin from somewhere behind the block.

I dont kow if maybe i blew a vaccum line or a gasket but its very frustrating mostly because its my fault there is no coolant in the oil, poil pressure i still good and it still idles fine, but it idles higher than normal now.. there is no knocking or oil flowing out from anywhere so i think i lucked out in that area. If anyone has any tips or answers please chime in and if u can be nice haha, its been a long frustraing couple of days.

i wasn't refering to the overboosting, i was addressing the popping sounds and if the car was running odd

mine sounds like a rotary when they blow and it dumps black smoke/popps

it is probably the engine if you did over boost, but i always check the small things first

I couldn't live w/o boost cut... What ems you run? I was glad I built my bottom end. I lost a vaccum line on my FPR and det pretty bad. I think the main thing that saved me that it went so lean it misfired and didn't toast the pistons. Motor still runs fine, close call for sure.

If your idle is surging or doing something funny I would definantly check for a leak. I've had that happen several times before. Check the compression to get the real verdict.

Also you should probably look into upgrading your wastegate vac line. There are people here that sell fittings to get away from the rubber lines and zipties.

After my FPR insident I switched to the push/lock fittings. They seem much more secure and look cleaner in the engine bay.
