Icon6 2000 Civic Si engine swap help

I've recently picked up an 00 Si from my friend. The price was too good of a deal to pass up on so i bought it but there is a problem with the car. There is a huge hole in the block, not sure about the condition of the head, so im planning to do an engine swap(first one ever). Even if the head was good i dont really want to run an LS-V setup, hearing about too much problem with oil leaks with those. I was thinking about just tossing another b16a2 motor in so that i would not have to mess with the wiring harness, but i cant really seem to find an b16a2 at the moment. So im wondering what motor can i use without changing the stock wiring harness. Is it possible to use an usdm obd2 b18c1 engine with the stock wiring harness? how about a JDM engine? And also if the head turned out to be good can i use any b16 shortblock? I've tried researching this on HT but could not find anything on this. If anybody can point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.

yes you can be sure the head is ok first. you can run a b18c longblock but you have to swap couple of parts around.

im not sure on the parts for the swap to b18c but they are basicly the same motor.

but just finding a b18 or b16 block would be easest as you can just switch and go, no need for extra parts.

I have the same car, and am swapping a B18C into it. It's pretty much plug and play. If you buy the short block, and it has good rings, the only things you should need to replace are the crank seals, timing belt, and either a new ecu, or chip the one you have.
