yesterday as I was driving my EK the shifter started popping when i would switch gears. It would pop violently so I thought it was a shift linkage problem since it wasn;t popping out of gears . So i pop the hood and the tranny bracket (not the mount) is broken and the tranny is sort of hanging off.. I will get the tranny bracket replaced today but could this be the problem in why my gears were popping ?

yes, because the tranny was in a bind, and you were shifting it while hanging so they were getting caught...

 

Do you have all 5 mounts in the car?

 

Not the torque mounts . I just have the driver side , the rear mount and the tranny on the passenger side.

 

I edited my post: its the tranny mount BRACKET not the actual mount thats busted.

 

So that would be #6.

Can you install the two lower mounts ?

 

I haven't had em installed for about 4 years. Never had a problem with it.
