Default 96 hatch with jdm b16 and p30 ecu question

hi...hope this is the right place to post this...
but i have a 96 hatch with a obd1 jdm b16 and the jdm p30 ecu .

im wondering if i need to rechip the p30 ecu since its already meant for a b16..
how different is the basemap on the jdm ecu's compared to..maybe a 99 si ecu..besides the extra sensors that the ecu looks for on the 99 ecu's...

thanks...

exactly the same. you don't need to change anything, you just won't have the obd2 monitors.

stay with the stock ecu, if it doesn't trow any cells than you will be fine.

i wish it threw a CEL..
the problem is right now the car hesitates/boggs/missfires at under 2000 rpm..1st and
2nd gear will do it.,...then after it gets up to speed... it doesnt do it anymore..

i changed the o2 seonsor and same thing happens...had a master mechanic check the distributor and fuel pressure(thinking it was a clogged fuel filter) and said both is fine....timing is set right...
he said the motor might have some aftermarket camshafts (maybe)...and said i need to rechip the ecu...im wondering if a street tune can find the problem..
im hoping someone has this similar issue to give me some ideas..

also the ecu i got has(converted-good) written on it..what does that mean..

thanks for all the help..
