i believe you can. I have heard of putting the cable ls 5th gear into a hydro b series tranny to save gas. it should work both ways, just google it or call a tranny shop in your area.

It won't work. Hydro gears won't go into s1,a1,j1 trannies. You can, however, swap them into the ys1 trannies from 92-93 integras.

Yeah I see these questions a lot and they're generally followed by misinformation.

Another thing is parts don't swap between all of those 91-earlier trannies either.

I believe you can swap parts between the s1 and y1 trannies, while you can also swap parts between the a1 and j1 trannies.

I swapped y1 gears into an a1 casing and it all went together well. I think it is just determined by the splines that were switched in 92.

As stated before you'll need a ys1 case

There are certain parts where it matters, when i was looking for synchro sets there were 2 different kits. 1 for s1/y1 trannies and 1 for the a1/j1 trannies. Maybe the gear sizes are different but the cases are the same, so if you swap it all over it works. No experience with that one.

That's strange, I wonder why. I swapped over my 3rd/4th gear syncros over from my a1 into my y1 and that worked so those must be compatible but maybe the others are different.

Yeah who knows, that's how the parts i looked at before were listed. But I've never tried it, you have, sounds like it's working well for you
