Icon6 2002 Accord transmission jerking

Ok, so I'm new to this site...and I was hoping someone out there might have some ideas for what my car is doing. I have an 02 Accord coupe recently it's started jerking slightly when put into reverse and every now and then when I am coming to a stop. Yesterday I noticed that the jerking was getting more and more harsh. I've several posts on lots of websites and half the people don't seem to know what they are talking about...Is the problem so severe that I am going to need to replace the transmission????

Can someone help me ? Thanks in advance!

How many miles are on it?

I do know for sure there is an extended warranty on 98-01 models to 100,000mi, im not sure if the 02 applies or not, maybe someone can confirm or deny that?

I hate to say but I owned an 01 accord coupe automatic and are trannies, sound similar, i had mine replaced for $1500 locally used cause i had like 133XXX something..

You havent recently had your transmision FLUSHED have you? I have been told that is bad to have done on these hondas, cause it shuffles around contaminates in your tranny, and causes them to fail, it was like 5,000 miles after my flush, that mine died.

No I didn't have it flushed...I only had it drained and then filled...no flush! I was told not to do that also.

ur trans is done. time for a new one. when it is jerking when changing gears or when slowing down and then accellerating again, you gonna need a new one as the clutch packs are toast. been there done that a few times already

It's not shuttering when changing gears only every now and then when I am starting from a dead stop...and since we changed the oil and cleaned out around the spark plugs it hasn't done it since.

Old thread, may be beating a dead horse, but I don't think your trans is donezo just yet. Sounds like a torn auto trans mount. Especially with the slowing and what not.

DAMN. $3200, that's more than my entire car with a vtec swap. I'm sure it's worth it to ya but I'm just sayin', that's a lot of bones on just an auto tranny. My trans was jerking into reverse and especially when I would get into or out of first gear. Only needed a new trans mount.

I have a 2001 accord V4 with a 170K and its getting worse with the jerking. Its been doing it for about a year now but its is getting pretty bad now. It is especially noticeable when slowing down to almost a stop then accelerating again, and now its jerking abit from 1st to 2nd gear aswell. I kind of agree with the clutch packs being the culprits, is it possible to service the transmission DIY, can I get this part and replace it or is it not worth it.
