Every new model accord transmission seems to have updates/recalls on em. 86-87, 90-91, 94-95, 98-99, and 03-04. Waiting to see what it will be for 08-09 models.

I have the v6 sedan with navi...

Only problems I've had so far are random vibration noise and of course wiring problems with the lights every new car seems to have.

I agree...That is why I posted the original question. I would never buy a first model year car, no matter how much I trust the manufacturer..I have been burned too many times in the past. I have an '04 Accord (second model year), I have had TONS of brake issues...I think they have been solved with the '05 model..Don't even get me started on the 2001.5 VW Passat sedan I stupidly bought. That was a brand new model year too. So many problems, I can't even keep track. I think I had a lemon, but it was too late to do anything about it after a year had past. Sticking with the Honda's from now on. This is my one..78,000 miles and counting..

The front brakes always had this very loud "grinding noise" to them when I applied the brakes (ever since I drove it off the lot). It was just an extremely horrible sound (on a brand new 2004 Accord) every time I came to a stop light. I had to go to several dealers until they would do something about it. The dealer heard the noise on several occasions cut the rotors and replaced the pads, several times. This never stopped the noise. The dealer always said, the noise came from the rotors being "glazed" from high heat build up from driving, but that it was not harming the brakes (and here is my favorite part - "the noise was normal").
Also, my pads wore out at about 40,000 miles. The rear's went first (which I find weird - the dealer said that was normal too??). Then the front at around 50,000. Have you ever heard of a Honda that had pads replaced before 60,000 miles?? I eventually had to take the car to an independent auto repair shop. They told me that the rotors were "warped" and they promptly replaced them with new pads and "what do you know, the noise disappeared". I actually wrote a letter to American Honda Motor Company, got a reply that they would "not do a thing", because it was not a safety issue. Can you understand my frustration?? I have had two other Honda's prior and never had this type of problem before. Oh well. Brakes are great now, that I have after market parts on them. Case solved.

I gotta tell ya... that's not a Manufacturing problem. Pad materials vary greatly and it sounds like you had some hard material in the calipers. It also is NOT a warp issue, material builds up on the rotor face from the pads and can cause runout, this is pretty normal with bad drivers or agressive drivers. 50K on pads and rotor? I replace mine at about 10-15k LOL

And your complaining because your front brakes didn't least till 60,000? I'd be happy if I got 20,000 miles off of front and maybe 30,000 off of rear if I even get that many miles. Also I always change my rotors, cutting them is a waste of time and money.

lol this has GOT TO BE THE CRAPPIEST POST in here

94 accord front/rear brakes replaced at 130K (I4 LX coupe)
98 accord front brakes still have 15% left on them when I sold the car at 100K (LX V6) changed the rear brakes at 91K
02 CL type S 63K and counting on the front brakes..... changed out rears at 60K (type S)

the 03/early 04 cars had some brake problems but honda got new pads and rotors out and the problem has been largely resolved.

If you are consistantly eating brakes at 20K you are driving like an ***.......
