the car started throwing a trouble code the other day, and i cant locate my book. its throwing 1 and 7 . anyone know what that is. its got a b20 non vtech.

 

oxygen sensor and throttle position sensor. you most likely need to replace the o2 sensor, and the tps may simply need adjustment, or replacement.

 

thanx 4 the quick reply. the o 2 sensor was replaced a couple months age to get the car to pass smog. i guess i have to figure out how to adjust the throttle position sensor. in the last week the idle has been fluxuating alot, real bad. i thought it might be a vacume leak, but my son tells me there is an idle sensor that probable needs replacing, somewhere on the back of the intake manifold. do you think one thing might have something to do with the other? thanx in advance. when we swapped the b20 in, the block didnt have a spot to transfer the plastic blow by box on it. do you think that has anything to do with our problem?

 

any body got any ideas

No that plastic box is not found on the B20. When i got mine i wondered the same thing.

 

i know i read somewhere theres a way to make it right. (black plastic airbox)

 

I dont have it on my 90 DA running a CRV-tec set up and it has not caused me any issues.
