GSR pistons too tight, any opinions?
Hi I am currently building a high comp gsr, Im using 12.5:1 pistons on stock rods and gave them to a shop to have the old ones removed and new ones pressed on. Problem is 3 of the pistons move freely on the wrist pins like they should, the last one doesnt. It moves but it just feels kinda tight, iv tried chucking a load of oil over it and wiggling it around but that hasnt helped. Should I take it back to the shop or is this normal? any ideas would be good....
wrist pins have to be fitted properly. The piston/wrist pin clearances have to be checked. If it's too loose or too tight, you'll have issues. Highly recommended that you use aftermarket rods. Eagle or manley rods are commonly used.
hmm well there jus ycp's of ebay, kinda doing the build on a budget. doesnt sound as though the shop will be able to do anything if i return them then?
