Weekend project. Front lower control arm bushings. Just wanted to share. PIX inside
Nothing flashy folks but helpful for those that need to swap theirs out and for those that have access to a autozone, this is very convenient.
Well this weekend I decided to press out/in my front lca bushings. I had the shop do the other side and they charged me 33 dollars not bad but I thought, hey, why not just try to do it my self. So here are some pix of the whole experience. I will admit, removing them and pressing them was a pain. It took a long time, however, I learned a lot. Which in my opinion is priceless. Now for some pics.
Removal took a long time. I am embarrassed to say how long. I was being extra cafefully to not cut thru the arm. hehe

I am not a fan of fire so i opted to drill out the rubber to remove the sleeve. Then cut the collar and tapped it out. Here is a pic with it removed and repainted

Now for the install. Keep in mind that the install did not cost me a dime. The tool you have to rent can be picked up at autozone. You leave a depost and return it. No cost what so ever.
Part number 27023

Action shot.

one in one to go

freshness!

now both pressed in.

Was a pain, took all day but I learned a lot.

yeah i did that a few months ago it def was worth doing it on my own i thought it was really easy to remove and press in the bearings with a little creativity. Worst thing for me was the fact that on of my cv joints broke in the process I still have no clue. But congrats on your success. looks good
thanks man. Did you let the axle and nuckle hang or did you prop it up? I can see that possibly letting it hang would break the cv axle. Everything feels so much better. I need to save up for coilovers and wheels now.
THanks man. Not really a write up, I just wanted to show folks how easily this can be done renting the tool and where to rent it from.

you explained how you got them out, what tool to use to get them back in, and pictures of it being done.
its a write up, its a good write up. thanks for the useful DIY
i could use new bushings all the way around on my car.
especially trailing arm bushings.
i auto x, so it would make a huge difference.
and new shocks...my stockers have bump stomp material all over them after the last auto x
haha

wow auto x on stocks... almost makes aftermarket shocks seem over rated. I decided to just go with comple aftermarket rear lca instead of replacing the bushings. Its actaully cheaper to do it this way if you were thinking about getting all the bushing from honda.
Heres my rta project from last weekend.
