Default Clutch nothing working right, really loose?

So I left my teg un-driven for about 5 days and when i decided to take it out for a spin, I notice the clutch was acting weird.

It is basically loose until the last maybe 2 inches that I can feel some pressure, but when I step the clutch all the way down, I couldn't get it out of gear so I had to pump the clutch like 15 times in order for me to be able to shift into gears.

And the friction point is really low like maybe an inch from the bottom, but after I'm on the road for a bit the clutch seems to have more pressure and works a lot better....

What could be the problem?

Thanks!

Clutch master cylinder.

Didn't read the second half of your post...I'd check by your clutch pedal to see if it's really greasy, if so...it's the master cylinder...but if the MC is fine, then bleed/fill your clutch line w/ new brake fluid.

Definitely a hydraulics problem. Master cylinder or slave cylinder or both.

No.

Guess what happens when you push in the clutch pedal and the hydraulic system malfunctions? Nothing. The car keeps going.

Same thing happened to me, and all it was - low brake fluid- I had my car sitting around for 2 months without driving it, and I thought the same.

I replaced my clutch MC and slave a few years back, only cost about $150 for brand new OEM parts. The hardest part was getting to the clutch piston under the dash to disconnect it from the pedal and then reconnect it.

Bleeding the clutch is very easy, even by yourself. Just look under the MC cap, I can almost guarantee it's dry in there. Same thing happened to me when my MC was leaking.

thanks, i'm taking it into a shop to have them find out if it is the break fluid or the MC/Slave. the person told me is 255 parts and labor for MC and Slave, I thought that was a pretty good deal, but I sure hope is just the fluid, I'll ask em to check to fluid first.

I had the same thing happen to me.. The car sat for a while, and the fluid leaked out from the slave cylinder. New slave cylinder from AutoZone and it was good as new.

You got gang banged in the anus by that shop. It's a 30 minute job and like $100 in parts from the dealer.

So it turned out my master cylinder was leaking, but my slave is fine, so the shop charged me 195 for OEM parts and labor, car runs great now =D

And the person who paid 400 for his, I just realized he's in Canada, so probably 400 in Canadian dollars, but still, not that much off 400USD.

Thanks guys for the help!
