Hi all new to the group. I have a 93 Del Sol orginal owner, 75,000 miles SI in green, 5sp. Has never seen a winter. Idiot in a 2006 Nission Altima hits me in parking lot, cops called but no report due to private property. I have State Farm, he has Encompass. He is 100% at fault(have pix's to prove) He refuses to contact his insurance. I am getting stuck going through sf-paying deductable of course. What happends if he keeps refusing to contact his ins. co? Also est. on my car is almost $3600. Body shop says I'm very close to limit on fix. I DON"T want another car! NADA and KBB prices are low and where am I going to get another Del Sol for $3600 minus salvage costs? Any thoughts or help would be great. Thanks all

 

have you tried contacting his insurance company?

 

thats what your insurance is for... they will handle everything. you just have to pay the deductiable.

why are you stressing over him calling his insurance company?

lets say your deductiable is 500 doallrs. i guaranatee your insurance company will do somehting over the 3200 bill required to repair your car.

Follow that and you should be able to get the ball rolling. If you have plenty of picture evidence and especially the eyewitness cop(s), you should be in the clear and your company will have no problems going after him.

yeah, just pay the deductible, your car will get fixed, and the insurance will keep nagging his *** or his insurance's ***.

 

same kinda situation happened to my sister, if you want action then YOU call his insurance company. Or maybe contact him and mention the word "lawsuit" and i'm sure things will be handled speedily.

you got lucky though, the guy that hit me booked it. And i only have liability so im phucked.


lol "lawsuit" just use the word casually, so hes like "whoa, this guy isn't sweating this at all, he must have a good lawyer"

 

dude, just report it to you ins. and give them his info. and they will take care of it. thats there job, simple as that

 

Why havent you informed your insurance company about this?

 

call the guys insurance. you did get his infomation right?
he doesnt need to call anyone you do.... there insurance will take care of it.
you dont need a police report as long as you have his info,
you shouldnt have to pay anything its his fault.

 

yeah exactly that's another thing HE hit you, you don't even have to pay the deductible, his insurance company picks up the tab.

You never pay a deductible when you're not at fault. HIS insurance company will pay your insurance company 100% of the cost, so you don't need to worry.
