are fiberglass box heavy

 

come on!
NO inless they are built with other things then just fiberglass but they are very light compared to mdf.

 

It depends on how its built. Some can weigh as much as a mdf enclosure. Is it part of the car? Is the fiberglass enclosure its own enclosure? This is what will tell you the weight.

 

If fiberglass is used properly, it can be much lighter than MDF and plenty strong. Is it better suited for sub enclosures than MDF....thats another argument. The benifit to fiberglass is you can mold the material to match contours of the vehicle, so you will not have any flat surfaces which equals strength.
