Default light weight sub box?

i'm looking for a little more kick in my tunes but i dont want a heavy box, just looking for a 10" sub. are the mtx prefab boxes light? i like the ones that are car specific but im not too sure about mtx, i'm kind of partial to JL.

I thought JL also made some prefab? The only disadvantage to these are that they're plastic, not MDF. Different properties from the different material.

would that disadvantage be in the sound? id imagine plastic would be lightweight. anyone have any input on this box? soundwise or otherwise?

usually the JL audio / MTX boxes are hella expensive for the sound quality you get. You might be better off getting a custom built box for about $50, better sound.

The disadvantage is obvious, it doesn't look as great. If your concerned about weight when taking your car to the track, it could be quite easy to mount your amps and equipment to a board, and use quick connect connectors so your system can be removed in about 5 mins if you want it to be (to stop theives, just screw both corners of the board down with security/hard to find torx screws)
