Icon3 Engine starts problem

Hi guys, I have a 1996 Honda Accord Sedan Ex model. My starter died out last week and I replaced it. For the first couple days it starts with no problem at all. Until yesterday morning it didn't start after a couple try.

I was wondering what's wrong with the car? Is it cap and rotor needs to be replace? Spark plugs and spark plug wires need to be replace as well? Thank You for your help.

What kind of "won't start"
Does the starter spin the engine?

Check both your battery and starters (+) & (-) connections. Sounds like you may have a loose or dirty connection.

If the starter does not crank, it is unlikely the main relay problem. At least, check the battery connections and ground first.

So.... I took out the spark plugs today and what I see on the bottom of the spark plugs thread are yellow brownish color. Also the spark plug wires connecting to spark plugs have white stuff on them as well. Is that the reason why my car is hard to start in the morning? Thank you for your input.

If you have a no crank issue the plugs will have nothing to do with your problem. If you have a cranking engine with no start it could be a possibility. But they would have to be severely corroded.

Do you have any pics of said corroded plugs?

If they are corroded and dirty enough then yes you should replace them. Are they so corroded that you couldn't clean them up and see if that's your problem?

A light brown coating to the spark plugs insulator isn't bad, it's actually normal. Yes I agree that if they look like they were dipped in crap, I would also replace them. That's why I would like to see pics of said spark plugs. Or you could just keep throwing parts at this problem and eventually it will start. for neanderthal troubleshooting.

Is your car 5spd or auto? Mine's a 5spd and sometimes the ground wire tends to come off by itself. It's the wire that clips into the starter and it comes out from the engine harness. You'll be able to tell. If that comes loose, your motor won't crank over at all.

My car is an automatic. I will check the ground wire connecting to the starter today and keep you guys posted. I have questions though. How come it only hard to start in the morning after overnight park though? After I got the car started, it's starting fine the whole day?
