90-91 & 92-93 clutch & pressure plate question
so I was running a 90-91 LS trans with ACT clutch and pressure plate. I bought a 92-93 trans, swapped in ITR guts and bought a 92-93 clutchmasters stage3 disc because of the bigger splines. I was going to reuse my ACT pressure plate.
Well, when I when to bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel, the pressure plate would not clear the disc. it was rubbing on the hub portion
I cross referenced ACT's site and they do list a different part # for the pressure plates on a 90-91 and 92-93.
I guess what I am asking is...will a 90-91 pressure plate not work with a 92-93 disc or is it just that a ACT pressure plate not work with the Clutchmasters disc?
ALSO...if I need to get a whole 92-93 kit, are competition clutches any good? I haven't seen any concrete evidence one way or the other.
thanks
