Default Taking speedometre off odemetre - is there a way?

is there a way?
ive got the cluster out etc etc, and the speedometre is on the odemetre and there in 1 peice,
once i take out the 2 screws, its held together still by the needle,
is there a way to take the needle off without damaging?
reason for this, id lkie my odemetre on my new eg6 cluster.

thanks in advanced !

ive checked the how to swap odemetres thread but the speedo stays on the entire time, and therefore counter productive to my eg6 cluster!

i think the only way you can seperate them is too take the needle off but thats a big no no! once you take that needle off it will never read the right speed your actully doin. trust me this has happend to me on more than 1 occantion

any suggestions on what id do?
ive got a eg6 cluster, and my normal eg4 one, and id like to swap the odemetre only, just to keep my genuine original k's
the eg6 cluster is around 10-15000k's off!

eg6 one is white
standard eg one is black

if they were both black id just swap the clock with speedo!

ha thats what i was goin to say! lol im kinda stumped myself. only thing i can think of is winding back the odometer on the eg6 cluster. inspect the odometer from the eg4 and see if theres a way of winding it back without damage

The fact is anyone who's pickey enough to care about exact milage will also know its not a stock cluster. Its also a >14 year old car -- most places around here they are milage-exempt, meaning they don't care.
