Please help with my 1700 rpm idle problem..
Ok this is for a 92 civic but with a h22 swap. Everything ran fine and was tuned and taget idle set to 900. It idled and ran perfect then i wanted to change the throttle body. I took the top intake mani off and ported it to 70mm and put the skunk2 TB on. Well i also bypassed the iacv water lines since there was no where for them on the new TB. Now it idles high like 1700 and the idle screw really doesnt change anything. But if i unplug the iacv it idles at like 600 but throws a cel. Things i have tried are, Ran water lines back to iacv, checked and made sure butterfly is closing all the way and adjusted throttle stop screw, replaced TB gasket. Not i reused the gasket between the lower and upper intake mani but i just had bought it brand new and only had like 500 miles on it. So whats wrong? Could it be the 70mm porting to the stock mani, or maybe the gasket i re-used? Is there anyway to check for a bad iacv? Any other things to check? Im goin to check for vacuum leaks this weekend but if i dont find any im stumped.
So you have an aftermarket TB.. I've had problems where the map sensor was not sealed correctly by the OEM o ring. I had to go to advance and find a bigger o ring seal and that fixed my problem for me. If not I've also had the problem with the TB gasket not being the same for the TB.
I could try a new map o ring since i re-used the stock one. Also i just replaced the tb gasket with a new one from skunk 2 holes all lined up and nothing changed.
