Default high idle/ bouncing idle

well guys, for the past week or so my B16 has been idling really high and sometimes it bounces. it will warm up at 3k and idle at 2k once warm.

no i have replaced all vacuum lines. i have a new TB gasket coming tommorow. i hope thats what it is. i took the TB off now to clean it and didnt put a new gasket. the car ran 100% fine the previous week or 2. ive only had the swap in for about 3 weeks. now i did bleed the coolant twice now with the bleeder.

just stumped on what else to check or clean. i did take the IACV off already and cleaned the screen and the valve.

let me know some ideas please

well i went to a buddys shop and this is what we did. rechecked all vacuum lines and found theyre good and routed correct. replaced IAC and ordeal did not change. checked throttle cable tension, its ok. fitv valve was tightened up a little bit. TB gasket was replaced.

i havent a clue to what is going on with this.

anyone know off hand or have this deal.

the idle is really high. like 3k at start up then 2k once warm. the idle does bounce but only 60% on the time. so i dont get it.

what could it be?

ive bled the coolant several times now. put a new intake mani gasket on today.

still idles real high.

is it a bad ecu? AUTOZONE did test the TPS and they said it was bad, but i havent thrown any codes. if the TPS was actually bad wouldnt there be a code?

im just lost now, ive checked everything on this and it still idles real high.

anyone?

I had an idle problem on my b20 and it ended up being the seal behind the rotor where the throttle cable hooks to the throttle body. I never knew there was a seal there but we changed the throttle body and it works fine now. Spray some carb cleaner around that spot and see if the idle changes

ive sprayed carb cleaner around it and it didnt do anything different. no change in RPM. i kinda think the FITV is bad since ive chagned and checked everything else.

ANYONE GOT A OBD1 B16A THROTTLE BODY FOR SALE?

Clean your EACV, when i got my im, my idle was all fucked man. That fixed it, and it took 5 min. Its in the back of your im. 2 studs and it comes out. There will be a screen/mesh on one of the two holes. Spray at your own will

Remove your intake. With the engine warmed up, unplug the IACV. Is there any air being sucked into either of those two holes in front of the throttle plate?

Since you disabled the FITV, there should be no air being sucked through that hole.

I'm having the exact same problem...replaced the IACV, did the coolant, checked for vacuum leaks and everything. auto teacher told me to change the seal in the high-idle valve...what he called it and it worked when we did it on an accord in class. what is FITV???

im not exactly sure on the actual name of the FITV but i think its fast idle temp valve. its the same thing as the high idle valve.

im starting to think the FITV is bad or needs to be cleaned or oiled or something.

Have you figured it out yet? I'm having the same problem with my B18C, I was going to start checking every thing this weekend to try and fix the issue. If I find the problem I'll let you know. I was going to start with the idler control valve and work from there.

Well I found out what my problem was. The coolant line ran to the idler control valve and my fast idler valve were not ran correctly. I ran right and now it idles great. Chk yours out and I hope it is as easy of a fix.
