so i just put a new head gasket on my civic 92 cx with a D15B7 block and a D16Z6 head i put the gasket on and it still heats up.... to the dot in the middle? is that good? we put a head gasket on my brothers 94 dx a year ago and his temp gauge has never gone more than maybe a quarter way up.......

 

Did you properly bleed the cooling system? Is the coolant level low in the radiator? Does radiator fan run when the engine gets hot?

 

thats normal. hes prolly got a 45 gallon drum of ice in the trunk going into the intake...thats a joke

 

ive had a couple of cars that the temp gauge has had diffrent readings. one being 1/4 way fully warmed up.. and another being half way between hot and cold.

also do you have heat coming out of the vents?

 

yea theres lots of heat coming from the vents but there was also heat when the gasket was blown too.....

 

normal temp reading would be around 1/3-2/5 of the way up the gauge.
