Gas Guage...
I have this annoying problem....everytime I make a turn my gas guage goes up and down...or take off hard....WTF....is this normal for 5th gen Hatches....it's just so freakin annoying...when I part my car it says I have no gas...then after driving a bit ti says 1/4 tank...or when I just fill up then after 2 or 3 right turns bam 1/2 a tank.....lol.........make a left and it's up to full again..
What's the hell is going on!!!

Seems normal to me! Since the gas is a liquid, it is going to move inside the fuel tank. I would imagaine that there is a sensor that determines the level of gas in your car, and that sensor sends the message to the fuel gauge.
When you turn hard, or go up a hill, or accelerate fast, the gas shifts from one part of the fuel tank to the next.
This same things happens to me. . .you shouldn't really go by what the fuel gauge says, just go by the trip odometer. I can go about 325 miles/fill up in my 93 CX and my gauge needle is so far below the "E" around 290 that it isn't even funny.
Hope this helps. . .I am sure someone else will have a better explanation. . .if you get any more response at all.

same thing happened w/ my car before I swapped the guage. the old fuel guage is really loose, so it moves around alot when the gas sloshes around in the tank. the guage on the GS-R cluster is really stiff (lots of resistance if you push it w/ your finger) so it averages the level alot better and dosent move all over the place.
going by your odometer is still the best bet tho, that's what I do anyway

the only time my needle on my fuel meter went up and down is when i used arco gas...as for the rest of the times it's pretty normal...funny thing is when i have about a 1/4 tank left it does fluctuate...the way the tank was designed when taking turns aggressively fuel does get stirred up and tossed around making the needle restless...

Yeah I go by my miles too....but I'm just tired of having peeps who ride in my car say I need ******* gas.....it gets annoying...haha....
I get a good 300 miles to the tank in my VX hatch with DOHC zc motor....

I go by miles too...plus I know its time to get gas when I have to crank my car for about 30 secs before it starts.
at which point my gas gauge still says I have almost a 1/4 of a tank left.

My does that too. It's really bad after a 1/4 of a tank left. I can get 330 out of mine. I've never seen my fuel light on, I beginning to think that it doesn't work. My tank could be on E and I'll look at my gallons and I'll still have two gallons left..

My 92 cx does it also. as soon as I saw this thread title, I knew what it was abot. For me it's normal. I just put gas in it whenever.
