if there is oil on your spark plug then that means your piston rings or cylinder walls that are badly worn. but mostly it would be the oil rings

Do a compression and leakdown test. That will give you some idea of the condition of the rings. Generally that isn't the problem when you have oil on the plug. The cylinders get too hot for liquid oil to accumulate unless you were driving upside down for an extended period. Most likely it is the rubber O-rings around the spark plug hole. I had this problem and had those things replaced...no more oil burn

I'm not sure why it doesn't start. I'm currently having starting issues with my own setup so if i could answer your question and not my own, i'd be a little upset lol. Good luck...i can definitely feel for you on this one

Thanks and actually its more like good luck to the shop that now has to deal with it. I have too much shool **** to do lately and have no time to bother with it. I'm hoping to have it running soon...it's been down since Christmas 2007

if the rubber o-rings were worn wouldnt that cause oil to accumulate around the top of the spark plug where the porcelin is and around the plug wire, not on the tip of the plug and cause it to burn oil? how would the oil get past the spark plug where it seals into the head if it were leaking from the o-ring?
