So i recentenly boosted my b16 on 8 psi i only made 230whp, tuned on eCtune . . Im burning oil , it is blowing white smoke ! ! ! What do you think my issue is ? iv done comp. test all 4 cylinders are between 184-190 . Im wondering if it could be valve seals causing power loss & burning oil? I did notice un-burt oil on bumper before i boosted it.

im also having trouble with starting sometimes, i donno if that has anything to do with it or not . . . .

And this isnt a cheep turbo set-up either that is causing power loss, its all garrett, and tial, rev maxx set up.

anyone have there dyno #'s or sum input or idea's ?

 

Whats your entire setup... Turbo size, cams, etc... stock b16?

Stock B16 internals top and bottom end

 

doesnt sound bad for a stock b16!

 

Assuming a stock B16 is around 130-140 whp, you made 90-100 whp for 8 psi. A good setup should gain about 15 hp/psi, yours did about 12 hp/psi, which is pretty common gains.

 

just seems like the motor maybe a little weaker than normal . .

 

What size is your exhaust?

 

downpipe is 2.5, and im sure the exhaust is 2.5 also it's a APEXI WS2

 

maybe turbo seals? how thick is the smoke?

 

well when it was first dyno'd it was thick and filled up whole shop, but i think most of that was blow-by. then the smoke thinned out, but it is still smoking a little bit not real thick!!

But like i said i was going threw oil b4 i even boosted, about 1 1/2Qt. in 2000-3000miles, and some of it seems to be un-burnt oil on bumper.

Maybe try a leak-down test ?

 

leakdown and compression test would be good. also look for oil in the charge pipes on the compressor side of the intercooler.

 

well did a leak down 2day. .. head gasket is blown, in between cylinder 1&2
